WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED

"We Will Not Be Silenced"
Pam Finlay
Acrylic on Paper
November 2016

In under half an hour this painting came about yesterday afternoon.  I was led to call it “We Will Not Be Silenced” through the prompting of the Holy Spirit. As I was painting I was given the scriptures from Isaiah 62 Verse 1-5

1 For Zion’s sake, I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch

2 The nations shall see your righteousness, and all the kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will give

3 You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

4 You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your lands shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is In Her, and your land Married; for the LORD delights in you and your land shall be married.

5 For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your GOD rejoice over you.

6 On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen, all the day and all the night they shall never be silent.  You who put the LORD in remembrance, take no rest (ESV)

Those watchmen on the walls, they are vigilant and unwavering.  Jesus is pleading for us, the priesthood of Christ Jesus. We are His delight.  He is able to save us.  He is our advocate.

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore, he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him.  He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.

The accuser of the brethren has been thrown down (Revelation 12:10).  He cannot silence God’s people.  Jesus is continually interceding for us.  Through the cross He secured our salvation.  When He cried out “It is Finished” He cast out Satan forever.  Jesus will always be there for His redeemed. Through our salvation He reconciled us back to Him, and He imputed His righteousness to us.   The price was paid on the cross of Calvary.  His intercession is never-ending.  Christ Jesus is our only mediator.

1 Timothy 2: 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God, the Man Christ Jesus

6 Who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time.

It’s time to rise up and fight, read the word of God and declare it daily.  We have the sword of the Spirit, the word of God as our weapon.

Ephesians 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (NKJV)

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart (ESV)

Blessings,

Pam

THAT BIG RED BOW

"That Big Red Bow"

November 2016
While painting yesterday I looked at a background and immediately saw a “big red bow”.  I knew there must be a reason why this showed up so clearly in my painting and sensed it meant “in common union”, bound together by God’s love.

Bows historically have been traditionally tied on gifts to mean bringing people together in peace and harmony.  That’s what God does, He unites people together in Him.   He desires for us to bond together and be there for each other too, having that last bond of friendship.

I thought too of the scripture in Joshua 2 and the scarlet cord.  Upon searching I discovered in Hebrew language the word “Tiqvah” means hope.  The Strong’s dictionary defines it as a cord, expectation, hope, thing I long for.  The cord of scarlet thread in the window in Joshua 2.  That scarlet thread was Rahab’s hope.  We put our hope in Christ Jesus as our sure foundation.  He is our hope.
I also thought of the scriptures from Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (NKJV)
And Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (NIV)
It all started with that big red bow and again the Holy Spirit led me on a path of discovery.

Jesus is our living hope and we are all wrapped up in Him.
Blessings and love,
Pam.

REDEEMED

"Redeemed"
Pam Finlay
Acrylic on Paper
November 2016
A new painting called “Redeemed”.  The first scripture that was placed in my spirit as I was painting this was
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death(NKJV)
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.  Redeemed by His mercy and saved by His grace.  God provided the ultimate sacrifice so that we could have the gift of eternal life.  The Lion of the Tribe of Judah has prevailed.   Jesus has redeemed us to God by His blood. The atoning blood of Christ redeemed us to God.   Help us Lord to be faithful witnesses to the blood of the Lamb.
Other scriptures I received while painting were:
Ephesians 1:7 In union with him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offense, according to the riches of God’s grace. (ISV)
1 Peter 1:19 It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God (NLT)
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed; for I, the LORD you God is with you wherever you go”(NJKV)
Jesus, He came as the Lamb to serve and He is coming as the Lion to reign.
2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God! He always leads us triumphantly by the Messiah and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of knowing him (ISV)
Blessed be the name of the Lord God Almighty.  Let His name be praised forevermore.
Blessings and love,
Pam

GOING HIGHER, GETTING BRIGHTER

Going Higher, Getting Brighter
Pam Finlay

November 2016
As these golden daisies reach towards the sun they open up and bask in the warmth and let their little light shine.  The earthly garden a reflection of God’s heavenly garden.  That place of intimacy where you can smell the fragrance and rest in the cool of the day.  Smell, taste and see of God’s goodness in the garden in delight.

IN THE FLOW

IN THE FLOW
Pam Finlay
Acrylic on Canvas
November 2016

The journey within is what counts.  Opening your heart takes you deeper into the garden of God, the scent of His presence flowing into you.  Like the flowers we are His innermost works of art.  Inspiration came from the scripture below.
Song of Songs 4:
13 Your inward life is now sprouting,
Bringing forth fruit.
What a beautiful paradise
Unfolds within you.
15 Your life flows into mine,
Pure as a garden spring.
A well of living water
Springs up from within you,
Like a mountain brook
Flowing into my heart.
 (The Passion Translation)

As I was writing this I was listening to Julie True’s song “Quietness and Trust” and the lyrics were speaking to my spirit – It’s not about doing, it’s about being, in quietness and trust that’s where my strength is, it’s going lower…………..

PEACE - "SHABBAT SHALOM"

"PEACE"
Pam Finlay
Acrylic on Canvas
November 2016
As I began painting yesterday I kept hearing the word “Peace”.  Then the Holy Spirit gave me the words “Shabbat Shalom”, not knowing the meaning I was amazed that He had placed these two words in my spirit.  Shabbat means Sabbath and Shalom means peace.  On the seventh day, the Sabbath, the day of rest, His perfect peace will restore wholeness to you.   I was sensing that this was His message for this time.  PEACE  PEACE   PEACE, the gift of Jesus Christ’s peace.
John 14:26-27
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit , whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you: not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  (NKJV)
 Blessings and love,
Pam
