ZIONWARD

"Zionward" - Pam Finlay 2013 Acrylic on canvas

Isaiah 35
The future glory of Zion.
1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,
And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice,
Even with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
The excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
They shall see the glory of the Lord,
The excellency of our God.
Isaiah 62 verse 1
For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,
until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
And her salvations as a lamp that burns.
Psalm 80 verse 3
Restore us, O God;
Cause Your face to shine,
And we shall be saved!
 Psalm 87 verse 1
His foundation is in the holy mountains
Psalm 78 verse 68
But chose the tribe of Judah,
Mount Zion which He loved.
Isaiah 2 verse 3
Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the Lord’s house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And all nations shall flow to it.
Revelation 21 verse 10
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.
The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountain.
The materials of the mountain are of lively stones.  This mountain, Mount Zion cannot be moved, the dynamic love of God, the unalterable covenant of grace, established on the rock Christ Jesus, and guarded by the mighty power of almighty God. This power is established on the top of the mountain.  The city on a hill will be exposed from a wilderness experience to a blossoming garden of God.  It will be visible to all ( Isaiah 60 verse 4).
The colours in my painting are blue, green and purple which symbolize the glorified, immortal sons of God.  A prism will form through which the Son of Righteousness will shine through.  The green leaves in the foreground of the painting symbolize the “the harvest of the Firstfruits”, the bride of Christ.

Blessings
Pam.
