BLOOM

"BLOOM"

September 2017

As I started this painting I heard the words “The Eyes are the Window of the Soul”.  I was drawn to paint the eyes first.  Jesus speaks of eyes and light in scripture and He is describing that you should keep your eyes on God.  That is the secret to blooming.

The Holy Spirit is where our light comes from.  He comes to reside within our heart.  He rekindles the light that was once darkened by the Adamic nature.  In scripture the eyes are mentioned as the lamp of the body.

Matthew 6:22 The lamp of the body is the eye.  If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.  23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.  If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven(NKJV)

The young lady’s eyes reveal her soul.  She radiates a pure heart, a beautiful reflection of Christ.  Her eyes tell the story of her heart.  They are loyal and committed and display the love that resides within.  She is wearing a garland of flowers.  In ancient times a wreath of flowers symbolized a ring.  Her mind is betrothed to her Maker.  She is wearing the fragrance of Christ.

Isaiah 62:3 You will be a crown of splendour in the LORD’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God (NIV)
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there is your heart also (Aramaic)

As I was painting I also saw a veil and it was transparent and it was opened over her face.  It spoke to me of living a transparent life and being that free passage of light.  This causes you to bloom, to show your true colours, the transparent prism of light reflecting from the Son.  God is light and He is moulding us to be like Him, a carrier of His light.  Allow the light of Christ to shine through you.  Let your life be an opened book, the word of God made manifest.  His truth is what makes you free.

Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the LORD.  Walk as children of light (NKJV)

Blessings,
Pam
